The use of whey as an alternative culture medium for fermentation by lactic bacteria enables generating new products exopolysaccharide (EPS) and avoids environmental and economic damage. This work aimed to characterize the exopolysaccharide obtained from whey fermentation (EPS-LN60) by DF60Mi to identify its physical and chemical properties. The EPS was characterized in terms of total sugar, protein, yield, FTIR, thermogravimetry, calorimetry, monosaccharide composition, optical microscopy and SEM.

Ureaplasma diversum infects cattle and plays a significant role in economic losses in the livestock sector, as it is associated with the development of reproductive and respiratory disorders in these animals. Studies have suggested that membrane-associated lipoproteins (LAMPs) are closely linked to the pathogenicity of these bacteria. Thus, this study aimed to express the lipoprotein GUDIV-517 from U.

Pseudoplacentational endometrial hyperplasia (PEH) is a common uterine lesion in dogs. A high frequency of pyometra has been associated with PEH in dogs, suggesting that PEH might be related to the pathogenesis of pyometra. This study aimed to assess transcription levels and expression of Toll like receptors (TLR) 1, 2 and 4; alpha estrogen receptors (ESR1), progesterone receptors (PR) and prolactin receptors (PRLR) in uteri with PEH.

Transcranial sonography (TCS) is widely acknowledged as a frontline imaging tool in movement disorder practice, particularly for separating idiopathic Parkinson's disease from its many mimics. In recent years, however, investigators have extended its reach, showing that the same portable probe can also capture structural and hemodynamic signatures of neuropsychiatric disorders and the major dementia syndromes. Across neuropsychiatry, a dim ("hypoechoic") median raphe emerges as the sonographic hallmark of serotonergic imbalance: it recurs in major depressive disorder, bipolar depression, and panic disorder, predicts better response to selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, and even foreshadows post-stroke depression.
