Background: Gait impairment in Parkinson's disease (PD) occurs early and pharmaceutical interventions do not fully restore this function. Visual cueing has been shown to improve gait and alleviate freezing of gait (FOG) in PD. Technological development of digital laser shoe visual cues now allows for visual cues to be used continuously when walking.

Carbonaceous asteroids are the source of the most primitive meteorites and represent leftover planetesimals that formed from ice and dust in the outer Solar System and may have delivered volatiles to the terrestrial planets. Understanding the aqueous activity of asteroids is key to deciphering their thermal, chemical and orbital evolution, with implications for the origin of water on the terrestrial planets. Analyses of the objects, in particular pristine samples returned from asteroid Ryugu, have provided detailed information on fluid-rock interactions within a few million years after parent-body formation.

Lithium-induced kidney injury is commonly associated with the development of nephrogenic diabetes insipidus. Longer term lithium exposure is associated with the development of chronic interstitial fibrosis. The mechanisms of lithium-induced kidney injury are multifaceted, affecting many intracellular cell signaling pathways associated with cell cycle regulation, cell proliferation, and subsequent increased extracellular matrix formation and interstitial fibrosis.

Hydrophobic drug delivery via oral or pulmonary routes presents significant challenges for clinical translation, particularly for poorly soluble antiviral drugs. Physiological barriers-such as enzymatic degradation, harsh pH, and rapid transit in the gastrointestinal tract, or mucociliary clearance and alveolar macrophage uptake in the lungs-can severely limit therapeutic efficacy. To address these challenges, we developed a novel lipid nanocapsule (LNC) and chitosan/iota-carrageenan hydrogel composite tailored for sustained delivery of hydrophobic antiviral agents.

Chondrosarcomas (CSs) are generally slow-growing tumors of cartilage-producing cells, and the second most common primary bone malignancy following osteosarcoma. CSs are typically resistant to conventional chemo- and radiotherapy, and aggressive surgical resection with wide margins remains the only effective treatment option. Immunotherapies and targeted therapies in CSs have failed in clinical trials, and no prognostic biomarkers exist within the clinic.
