Objective: Work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WRMSD) are common among surgeons. We aim to investigate the prevalence and characteristics of WRMSD among otologists in both surgical and outpatient settings and to evaluate the impact of ergonomic interventions designed to reduce musculoskeletal strain.
Data Sources: The literature search was conducted in the following electronic databases: PubMed, Medline, Embase, and the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub.
Whilst there have been several studies on the complications of Trans-Oral Robotic Surgery (TORS) for oropharyngeal cancer and, to a lesser extent, obstructive sleep apnoea, there is an absence of data on robotic palatine tonsillectomy for benign tonsil disease. This single-centre, case-control study compares procedure duration and rates of readmission, bleeding and return to theatre for robotic tonsillectomies (n = 60) and traditional tonsillectomies (n = 365) performed on adult patients (> 16 years) between 2021 and 2024. Robotic tonsillectomy is shown to have a general trend towards lower readmission (10.

When confined to the oesophagus, the lesion caused mild dysphagia only and could not be identified on oesophagoscopy. However, supraglottic herniation of the lesion led to acute aphagia and airway obstruction, eventually necessitating a local anaesthetic tracheostomy.

This review focuses on studies that differentiate between lateral and central neck RFA, as lesion location might influence outcomes and complication rates.
Methods: A systematic review was conducted using the PRISMA guidelines, looking at articles that address management of thyroid cancer recurrence in the lateral neck.
