Liver metastases are associated with poor cancer outcomes in many solid malignancies, but the factors influencing the trajectory of patients with liver metastases are poorly defined. It is known that liver metastases suppress systemic antitumor immunity; however, the underlying mechanisms remain incompletely described. We report that liver metastases promote disease progression in patients and preclinical models.

Due to the cuboid's large articular surface and contribution to the maintenance of lateral column stability, treatment of cuboid fractures can be difficult and manifest with a variety of post-operative complications. Although simple cuboid fractures can be managed conservatively, at this time, there is no standard operative approach for displaced cuboid fractures.

The TTM has demonstrated effectiveness in reducing the public health burden related to various chronic diseases that are largely preventable through successful health behavior change intervention. Because the VA healthcare system (VA) is committed to providing quality care to Veterans who, all too often, suffer from complex physical and psychological comorbidities, it is critical to reduce Veterans' unhealthy behaviors while also helping them adopt and sustain adaptive health behaviors.

Background: Sleep disturbance is common in patients receiving hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HCT). Mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) can improve sleep quality during and following cancer treatment by reducing treatment-related symptoms and enhancing immune function.
Methods: We conducted a randomized controlled pilot study investigating the feasibility of implementing Mindfulness Awareness Practices for Insomnia (MAP-I) in patients with multiple myeloma (MM) undergoing autologous HCT.
Purpose: Evaluating functional recovery after surgery is an important patient-centred outcome. In the UK, recovery is commonly measured by patients' drinking, eating, and mobilising (DrEaMing) in the first 24 h after surgery, although the validity and the best measurement timing are unknown.
Method: This study aimed to review the DrEaMing patterns in a cohort of 360 colorectal patients during the first three days after oncological surgery, study the associations of DrEaMing with prolonged length of hospital stay (LOS > median) and significant morbidity (Clavien-Dindo ≥ II), and whether pre- and intraoperative variables could predict DrEaMing.
