Objective: The goal of this study is to characterize health outcomes across 3 domains-overall well-being, behavioral health, and physical health-in a large sample of autistic and non-autistic children and adolescents in the Environmental influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) program.

Method: First, we examined differences in health outcomes between autistic (N = 286) and non-autistic (N = 4,225) children and adolescents in the ECHO Program. Using a subsample of 1,809 participants (116 autistic participants) with complete outcome data, we conducted latent profile analyses (LPAs) to define profiles of health outcomes for autistic children and adolescents and for the combined sample of autistic and non-autistic participants.

While gestational Bisphenol A (BPA) exposure has been associated with autism, limited work has focused on dietary sources. Here, we sought to develop a summary metric to capture dietary exposure specifically and test its associations with measured levels, as well as child traits related to autism. Participants ( = 116) were from the Early Autism Risk Longitudinal Investigation (EARLI) Study, which recruited pregnant women who previously had a child diagnosed with autism.

While the efficacy of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) has been explored in humans and, to a lesser extent, in dogs with epilepsy, further clinical studies are required to assess the potential antiseizure effect of this non-invasive neurostimulation technique. The objective was to assess the antiseizure effect and safety of a novel three-day rTMS protocol in dogs with drug-resistant idiopathic epilepsy. A single-blinded, randomized, sham-controlled clinical trial was conducted by randomly allocating 20 dogs with drug-resistant idiopathic epilepsy or epilepsy of unknown origin into active ( = 10) or sham ( = 10) rTMS.

In dogs with intervertebral disc extrusion (IVDE), the Glasgow Composite Measure Pain Scale-Short Form (GCMPS) and the Sharp and Wheeler Grading Scale (SWGS) are routinely used in the evaluation of pain (GCMPS) and neurological function (SWGS). Additionally, quantitative sensory tests (QSTs) are increasingly being incorporated into veterinary clinical practice for pain characterisation. The aim was to investigate a possible relationship between the GCMPS, the SWGS, and mechanical thresholds (MTs) in 31 client-owned dogs with thoracolumbar IVDEs.
