[Study on voice characteristics of people with different sexes and ages].

Objective: To study the voice characteristics and differences of normal people with different sexes and ages, and to analyze the related factors, adopt suitable acoustic parameter values.

Method: To collect and analyze acoustic parameter values of 1200 normal people who were divided by sex (male and female) and age (group 1: before puberty; group 2: after puberty to 30; group 3: 31 to 45; group 4: 46 to 60; 5: 61 and older), laryngeal manifestations of different sex and age under stroboscopy were analyzed.

Result: Acoustic parameters of men and women have different characteristics.

[Study on voice quality after different layers injured in vocal fold with CO2 laser microsurgery].

Objective: To investigate the nature of pathological voice after injured in different layers of vocal fold with CO2 laser microsurgery.

Method: 50 cases of precancerous lesion (keratosis and leukoplakia) were treated with laser mucosa ablation. Glottal carcinoma (Tis-T2) were treated with laser microsurgery in mucosal stripping(30 cases) or with laser cordectomy(60 cases).

Determining the site of airway obstruction in obstructive sleep apnea with airway pressure measurements during sleep.

Objective: To determine the site(s) of upper airway obstruction in patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) and their changes during sleep with upper airway (UA) pressure measurement; and to analyze the correspondence between the UA pressure measurement and polysomnography (PSG).

Method: Thirty patients with OSAS underwent UA pressure measurement. The catheter with five solid-state ultraminiature sensors was inserted through the patients' upper airway to the esophagus.
