Understanding the neural mechanisms behind short-term memory (STM) errors is crucial for unraveling cognitive processes and addressing deficits associated with neuropsychiatric disorders. This study examines whether STM errors arise from misrepresentation of sensory information or decay in these representations over time. Using 2-photon calcium imaging in the posterior parietal cortex (PPC) of mice performing a delayed match-to-sample task, we identified a subset of PPC neurons exhibiting both directional and temporal selectivity.

There is a need for safe and effective vaccines against the Venezuelan equine encephalitis virus that infects both humans and equines. However, development of a live-attenuated vaccine using the TC-83 strain has been hampered by substantial reactogenicity and the potential for neuroinvasion. In this study, we demonstrate that V4020, a new TC-83-based investigational VEEV vaccine with redundant safety features preventing neuroinvasion and reversion, exhibited no neuroinvasion potential in a murine model.

Background: Glycoprotein A-repetitions predominant (GARP) is a cell surface non-signaling receptor for docking and activating latent transforming growth factor beta (LTGFβ) expressed by regulatory T cells, platelets and tumor cells. In lung and breast cancers, its expression correlates with advanced stage and poor prognosis - suggesting that GARP could act as a therapeutic target. This study examines the therapeutic impact of targeting GARP in glioblastoma (GBM) via a novel anti-GARP chimeric antigen receptor-expressing T cell (CAR-T) modality in murine models of GBM.

Purpose: Lenalidomide maintenance is the most frequently utilized approach for newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (MM) patients following induction therapy with/without consolidative high-dose melphalan and autologous stem cell transplantation. Baseline and longitudinal measurable residual disease (MRD) negative status is a well-established positive predictive sign in lenalidomide maintenance patients. However, the clinical utility of serial MRD assessments remains uncertain, as there is no consensus on the clinical management of MRD-resurgence (MRDres) or stable remissions in patients positive for MRD.

Previous studies have demonstrated the feasibility of bedside placement of ureteral stents in cases of acute ureteral obstruction. However, there is a lack of evidence comparing its efficacy to traditional stent placement in the operating room with fluoroscopy. We compared the clinical outcomes of bedside ureteral stent placement with the current standard of care.
