Background: Trial participants are typically healthier than the general population. Differences in underlying characteristics between the population undergoing lung cancer screening (LCS) and LCS trial participants may alter the benefits of LCS.

Research Question: Does the risk of developing and dying from lung cancer differ between trial participants and the general population?

Study Design And Methods: Using data from the i) North Carolina Lung Screening Registry (NCLSR), ii) 2022 Center for Disease Control and Prevention's Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) Lung Cancer Screening Module, and iii) National Lung Screening Trial (NLST), we estimated the 5-year probability of developing and dying from lung cancer if not screened using publicly available macros.

Objective: Ultrasound (US) is a more accessible alternative to MRI for rotator cuff tear (RCT) assessment. Rapid US can identify RCTs, but accurate US interpretation remains challenging, even for experts. Introduction: Lung cancer screening has been recommended by the United States Preventive Services Taskforce since 2013. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services coverage decision in early 2015 required data submission to a Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services-approved registry for facilities to receive payment for screening. Only the American College of Radiology's Lung Cancer Screening Registry (LCSR) received approval for this purpose.

Management of mandibular condylar and subcondylar fractures is heavily debated due to the proximity of important structures and complication risks. This study reviews the outcomes of 4 different treatment approaches: conservative, closed reduction with maxillomandibular fixation, open reduction and internal fixation, and open reduction and internal fixation with maxillomandibular fixation. A retrospective chart review of all patients with a facial fracture seen at a level one trauma center between 2012 and 2022 was performed.

In hafnia-based thin-film ferroelectric devices, chemical phenomena during growth and processing, such as oxygen vacancy formation and interfacial reactions, appear to strongly affect device performance. However, the correlation between the structure, chemistry, and electrical potentials at the nanoscale in these devices is not fully known, making it difficult to understand their influence on device properties. Here, we directly image the composition and electrostatic potential with nanometer resolution in the cross section of a nanocrystalline W/HfZrO (HZO)/W ferroelectric capacitor using multimodal electron microscopy.
