While fluorene-containing materials are widely used in organic optoelectronics as bright emitters and hole semiconductors, their diazafluorene analogues have been poorly explored, though their nitrogen atoms could result in electron transport and bring sensory abilities. Here, we report the synthesis, characterization, and detailed study of a series of 4,5-diazafluorene-derivatives with different donor/acceptor substituents and organic semiconductors based on these molecules. The crystal structures of all the materials were solved by X-ray diffraction, indicating the presence of extensive π-stacking and anisotropic charge-transfer pathways.

Introduction: The trinational survey project conducted by the young forums of the German, Austrian, and Swiss societies for gynecology and obstetrics aims to evaluate the preferences of prospective and practicing gynecologists regarding various working time models, training systems, career pathways, and the reconciliation of professional and family life.

Materials And Methods: Between October 2023 and May 2024, 1364 participants completed the FARBEN survey. The questionnaire comprised 62 items addressing aspects such as general workplace conditions, working time models, training priorities, team structures, and professional aspirations.

Climate change and rising tropospheric ozone concentration are impacting ecosystems in various ways and can influence the volatile-mediated interactions between insects and their host plants. In this study, individuals of the psyllid species Cacopsylla pyri and C. pyrisuga as well as their host plant Pyrus communis were exposed to elevated but naturally occurring ozone concentrations.

While marine bryozoans were shown to be a promising source of bioactive compounds with the potential to be developed into drugs, their freshwater counterparts remain understudied. Considering that bioactive compounds isolated from bryozoans may originate from bacterial communities associated with the hosts, we explored the bacterial community of the freshwater bryozoan Cristatella mucedo using genomics and metabolomics. 16 S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing of the bacterial community associated with C.

Objectives: Activin A, a multifunctional growth and differentiation factor and neuroglobin (Ngb), an oxygen-dependent heme protein, have been proposed as novel oxygen-dependent neuroprotectants. Both these endogenous cytoprotective factors are partially controlled by hypoxia-inducible transcription factors (HIFs) and are strongly upregulated in various forms of acute brain injury, including traumatic, hypoxic and ischaemic lesions. Considering their potential role as biomarkers of neonatal brain injury, we investigated the regulatory effects of seizure-induced excitotoxicity and acute hypoxia on the activin A and Ngb systems in the developing mouse brain.
