Delayed diagnosis of post-traumatic bronchial transection in a pediatric patient: A case report.

Background: Tracheobronchial injuries (TBI) are rare yet potentially fatal complications of blunt chest trauma, often underdiagnosed due to nonspecific clinical manifestations.

Case Presentation: We report the case of an 11-year-old Arab girl who developed progressive dyspnea two months after a motor vehicle accident initially managed conservatively. Imaging revealed complete atelectasis of the right lung and obstruction of the right main bronchus by granulation tissue.

Azathioprine (AZA) is a widely employed immunosuppressive and chemotherapeutic medication that may exhibit detrimental effects on testes. Fluvastatin is a lipid-lowering agent with promising reproductive properties. This work aimed to assess the testicular toxicity of AZA and the probable protective role of fluvastatin.

Percutaneous fixation of certain types of acetabular fractures is a valid, minimally invasive, and successful procedure. However, the technique for proper insertion of such screws is sensitive and requires adequate understanding of radiographic images. Furthermore, an optimum entry point and trajectory of the screws should be guaranteed to avoid hip joint penetration and screws misplacement.

Objectives: To investigate the growth parameters of children with phenylketonuria and assess the impact of a phenylalanine-restricted diet on their physical development.

Methods: The study involved 39 children diagnosed with phenylketonuria through newborn screening at the Central Child Teaching Hospital, Baghdad, Iraq. Data were collected during scheduled monthly check-ups, including phenylalanine levels, diet compliance, and anthropometric measurements.
