Preterm birth (PTB) is a major cause of neonatal mortality and morbidity. Evidence supports a determinant role for interleukin-6 (IL-6) in the pathophysiology of PTB. Our group developed a small peptide, HSJ633, that antagonizes the interleukin-6 receptor (IL-6R).

Biomarkers are necessary to optimize the use of these therapies. : We evaluated killer-cell immunoglobulin-like receptors (KIRs) and HLA-I genotyping and the expression of NK cell receptors in circulating T and NK lymphocytes at diagnosis in 325 consecutive BC patients (151 treated with BCG and 174 treated with other therapies), as well as in 648 patients with other cancers and 973 healthy donors as controls.

BC accounts for an estimated 500,000 new cases and 200,000 deaths worldwide every year. Understanding the biology of BC has changed how this disease is diagnosed and treated.

Preterm birth is a major public health concern, requiring a deeper understanding of its underlying inflammatory mechanisms and to develop effective therapeutic strategies. This review explores the complex interaction between inflammation and preterm labor, highlighting the pivotal role of the dysregulation of inflammation in triggering premature delivery. The immunological environment of pregnancy, characterized by a fragile balance of immune tolerance and resistance, is disrupted in preterm labor, leading to a pathological inflammatory response.

Our study investigates the efficacy of 25H-NBOMe, a phenethylamine, in alleviating these symptoms, potentially offering an innovative treatment for post-sepsis depression. Wistar rats, weighing between 250-300 g, were subjected to cecal ligation and puncture (CLP) surgery to induce sepsis.
