Purpose: Recent improvements in Nanopore sequencing chemistry has made it a promising platform for long-read 16S rRNA sequencing. This study evaluated its clinical utility in a nationwide collaboration coordinated by Genomic Medicine Sweden.
Methods: Thirteen mock samples comprised of various bacterial strains and an External Quality Assessment (EQA) panel from QCMD (Quality Control for Molecular Diagnostics) were analysed by 20 microbiological laboratories across Sweden, using the recent v14 chemistry.
Background: Art in patient rooms can have positive effects on wellbeing and clinical outcomes. Patients' art preferences may differ from the preferences of medical providers. In this study, chronic pain and palliative care patients' preferences regarding art in patient rooms were compared with physicians' preferences.

Background: Emerging research suggests the presence of a blood microbiome in clinically healthy individuals. Characterizing bacterial composition and abundance in blood from a group of healthy horses is of clinical interest.
Hypothesis/objectives: Horses in a closed herd environment will have blood microbiomes with similarities among individuals.

Monitoring these habitats is still challenging, which hinders the ability to evaluate global and local pressures that threatens their ecological value. In this study, ecological quality is estimated in twenty-one marine caves distributed along the northern and southern coasts of the Alboran Sea, a highly understudied area regarding marine caves.
