Autonomic responses to respiratory events and risk of chronic kidney disease in obstructive sleep apnea.

Study Objectives: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA)-related hypoxemia, measured by hypoxic burden (HB), is associated with chronic kidney disease (CKD). OSA-related autonomic response may also be associated with CKD. This study examined whether individuals with high HB and varying autonomic responses to OSA have a different risk of CKD progression compared to those with low HB.

Objectives: Research consistently reports an association between auditory hallucinations and traumatic experiences, yet the psychological mechanisms underpinning this relationship remain poorly understood. Empirical evidence suggests that enduring dispositions, including early maladaptive schemas, interact with immediate stressors to elicit auditory hallucinations. The inner critic represents the activation of such enduring dispositions and concurs with common themes in auditory hallucinations.

The impact of collaborative pharmaceutical care on hospital discharge medication error prevalence: A stepped-wedge cluster randomised trial.

Objectives: The benefits of a collaborative approach to medication management between pharmacists and clinicians in secondary care on patient safety has been demonstrated in clinical trials. However, less is known about the benefit of such collaboration in real-world settings. This study assessed the effectiveness of a collaborative model of pharmaceutical care including pharmacist collaborative prescribing, on discharge medication error, and explored the intervention fidelity.

Searching for Solutions in the South: A Network-First Approach to Health and Social Service Collaboration.

A system of health and social service hubs was recently established by a citywide equity-oriented network in Atlanta. The Office of Minority Health recently funded an expansion of the pilot, which provides an opportunity for the work to mature and yield lessons learned from the network-first model.
