Corneal ulcers pose a significant threat to vision and require timely, effective intervention to prevent permanent damage. This experimental study evaluated the therapeutic potential of combining crushed limbal tissue with either bovine amniotic membrane (AM) or a conjunctival flap to enhance corneal wound healing in a rabbit model. Twenty-five New Zealand white rabbits were randomly assigned to five groups: (G1) untreated control, (G2) AM alone, (G3) conjunctival flap alone, (G4) AM with crushed limbal tissue, and (G5) conjunctival flap with crushed limbal tissue.

August 2025
The aim of this study was to increase growth hormone (GH1) and insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF1) levels in rat muscle indirectly through the transduction of C2C12 cells via lentivectors and to compare their effects on muscle mass. The coding sequences of GH1, IGF1, and GH1-IGF1, linked by the 2 A self-cleaving peptide to enable polycistronic expression, were synthesized, cloned and inserted into the pCDH vector. Recombinant pseudolentiviruses containing our target genes were produced in HEK293T cells.

Toxin-producing bacteria, such as and , pose severe risks by producing virulence factors that impair immune function, delay wound healing and exacerbate systemic inflammation. These challenges are amplified in the presence of SARS-CoV-2, as the viral-induced immune dysregulation and cytokine storms worsen clinical outcomes, leading to higher rates of morbidity and mortality.

However, objective criteria for distinguishing pathological from physiological HFOs remain elusive, hindering clinical application. We investigated whether the distinct mechanisms underlying pathological and physiological HFOs are encapsulated in their signal morphology in intracranial electroencephalographic (iEEG) recordings and whether this distinction could be captured by a deep generative model.

Here, we aimed to investigate how SHED-MSCs cross-talk with THP-1 cell-derived macrophages in a co-culture system. SHED- MSCs were indirectly co-cultured with polarized M0 and M1 macrophages using the six-well transwell culture system, and their effects on macrophage plasticity, surface molecule expression, cytokine secretion, oxidative stress indexes, and gene expression were evaluated.
