Objective: Improving outcomes for pediatric patients with hydrocephalus in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) requires research on ventriculoperitoneal shunt (VPS) complications and outcomes that may be comparable to studies conducted in high-income countries (HICs). The authors aimed to address this gap by conducting a systematic review to analyze VPS complications and outcomes among pediatric patients in LMICs.
Methods: This review adhered to PRISMA guidelines and the Assessing the Methodological Quality of Systematic Reviews (AMSTAR 2) quality assessment.

Purpose: To test the feasibility of a point-of-care (POC) real-time urine metabolomics test, evaluate its validity in diagnosing colorectal cancer (CRC) among at-risk patients, and assess the willingness of patients in Southwestern Nigeria to use and pay for the test.
Methods: This was a pilot-controlled trial carried out among 72 patients (34 cases and 38 controls) in southwestern Nigeria. The cases were those with histopathological diagnosis of CRC while controls were at-risk adults.
Background: Obstetric complications linked to assisted reproductive technology could be confounded by underlying parental factors and were often derived from databases not designed to study these complications. With evolving assisted reproductive technology practices, it is unclear to what extent contemporary assisted reproductive technology independently contributes to obstetric risks.
Objective: We aimed to prospectively evaluate obstetric risks associated with contemporary fertility practices, adjusting for parental and assisted reproductive technology parameters.
Drawing on experiences of Nigerian healthcare staff in a multi-centre international study, we describe insights into capacity strengthening, patients’ engagement, and discuss long-term challenges in sustaining outcomes after project funding ends.
