Background Sacroiliac joint fusion is performed to stabilize and fuse the joint in patients with degenerative sacroiliitis and joint dysfunction. While several posterior techniques and implants exist as alternatives to lateral approaches, biomechanical and clinical performance data for these systems used as standalone remains limited. This article provides a preliminary cadaveric and clinical assessment of a novel posterior intra-articular sacroiliac fusion implant system.

Intertidal animals experience conditions that substantially fluctuate over temporal and spatial scales and therefore require the ability to physiologically tolerate these fluctuations. Since multiple stressors often co-occur and natural populations tend to respond to local environmental fluctuations, we aimed to investigate individual and combined effects of MHW and increased suspended sedimentation in Forsterygion lapillum from two neighbouring coastal areas with distinct water temperatures and wave current regimes by assessing fish oxygen consumption rate, mortality and weight loss.

Herein, we discovered that when activated, the small GTPase ARF6 plays a central role in tumor survival by facilitating expression of the BRAF oncoprotein. Tumor-specific deletion caused a significant reduction in BRAF protein and MAPK signaling and prevented rapid tumor progression.

We present the case of a 31-year-old male patient with a past medical history of hypertension (HTN), polysubstance abuse, and previous fentanyl overdose who was brought in an unconscious state to the emergency department (ED) after a suspected GHB overdose. Upon arrival at the ED, the patient was obtunded and therefore medically sedated and intubated for airway protection.

We examined whether pain severity, pain interference, anxiety, and depressive symptoms are pathways through which discrimination may be associated with increased prescription opioid misuse behaviors among individuals with chronic pain.
Method: A total of 234 participants who reported being prescribed opioids for chronic pain management were included from a parent longitudinal study collected from Amazon's MTurk.
